     Princess Mi-Amore Cadenza, or commonly known as Princess Cadence, is the ruler of the Crystal Empire, a

 

kingdom situated in the Frozen North of Equestria and near the Crystal Mountains. Princess Cadence oversees the

 

happenings of the empire, governing it with the same amount of skill as Princess Celestia. Princess Cadence

 

originally lived in Canterlot Castle, before the empire appeared after a thousand years in disappearance. Princess

 

Cadence wasn't born an alicorn. Cadence was born as a Pegasus, one of the four races of ponies. She was an orphan,

 

as her parents had abandoned her in a village in the woods.  During her childhood, there was a pony named

 

Prismia, who wore a magic-enhancing necklace that amplified her evil and jealousy. Cadence confronted her, the

 

necklace amplified Cadance's love. Once Prismia changed her horrible ways, Cadance was surrounded by magical

 

energy and transported to a strange place where she met Celestia, who adopted her as her royal niece. Cadence

 

was also the former foal-sitter of Princess Twilight Sparkle, and is the wife of her brother, Shining Armor. Cadence is

 

also known as the Crystal Princess.
